Johan Blanco

Johan’s yoga journey began in his native country of Venezuela where his first approach to yoga was practicing Ashtanga at the beginning of 2008. His path has brought him to explore different styles and branches of yoga such as Power Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini, and of course Ashtanga yoga as its main focus.

In 2015 he moved to Miami and began to absorb new knowledge in this part of the world in order to increase the connection with his personal practice. He became certified RYT 200 and brought his great background of more than 10 years of teaching and helping students and yogis to improve their practice from within.

Currently, Johan, using his vast and unique experience over the years, is now focused on teaching two main types of classes, Power Vinyasa Yoga and Slow flow. These two techniques are completely different in their rhythm and benefits but at the same time, they are connected in that they generate a comprehensive practice focusing on both strength and the mind-body connection. Both styles help their students to progress quickly and safely in their personal practice, thus creating a unique commitment to this lifestyle.

However, upon completion of the teacher teaching, my expectations were extremely exceeded. I gained countless valuable skills that are applicable in all aspects of my life. From personal time management to confidence with public speaking, the YO BK training provided me with tools I couldn’t even imagine I’d gain. I received the most foundational practice and learned about modifications for others, as well as my own practice, which are priceless. I was also fortunate enough to learn from teachers with diverse backgrounds and create meaningful mentor relationships. Being in a room with the lead teachers felt like I had the world at my fingertips as their expertise within the yoga community was immeasurable. I had the most amazing peers who uplifted my spirits and continue to inspire me every day. Participating in this program last November was a transformative experience that deeply influenced my inner reflections and approach to movement. The knowledge and professionalism of the instructors who led the program were exceptional, fostering an environment of growth and learning. The facility itself was always impeccably clean and inviting, providing a welcoming space for personal exploration and development. Through this training, I not only gained valuable insights into the practice of power vinyasa yoga but also discovered profound aspects of myself that have positively impacted both my personal and professional life. YO BK Yoga Studio truly offers an unparalleled experience for those seeking to deepen their yoga practice and share its benefits with others¨. Angela

“I’m so happy I completed my training at YOBK with Sheri and Kate. The curriculum is designed to give you all the tools needed to teach, even if it’s not your end goal. Diving into yoga history, philosophy, anatomy, postures (and so much more!) provided a deeper connection to yoga and strengthened my personal practice. I went into YTT unsure if I would teach, and by week 2, it was something I felt passionate about doing. If you are the slightest bit curious about Yoga Teacher Training, stop thinking and sign up NOW! This is truly an opportunity to give yourself a gift. In YTT, you will connect with a community of supportive, goal-oriented and people with different backgrounds. Most importantly, this program will challenge you to look within, harness your power and give you the tools to challenge any fear or self doubt! You will emerge a stronger, more confident and whole individual. All you need to do is commit to the process!” - Irene

“I can’t recommend teacher training enough! You gain so much more than just being certified to teach yoga. The spiritual, mental and personal journey you go on is unparalleled to any other experience I’ve ever had. I’ve grown as a human, deepened my practice, found more calm in my everyday life and made friendships for life! YO BK provided such a rich experience. Each teacher brought such contagious passion and knowledge to the room - you were fully immersed in all different aspects of the yoga world. You really find what piques your interest and come away with a hunger to grow even more as a yogi and as a teacher. If you even have an inkling of wanting to explore teacher training you definitely should explore the opportunity.” - Mia

“Investing in Power Yoga Teacher Training at YO BK was simply one of the best decisions I’ve made. There wasn’t a moment of the 12 week program that I didn’t find incredibly meaningful (and fun)! It was such a privilege to learn from Sheri and Kate - two overwhelmingly knowledgeable and compassionate teachers. You’ll come out of this training knowing more about yoga, more about yourself, and with some awesome new friendships. 11/10 recommend!” - Christine

“When I signed up for Yoga Teacher Training at YO BK, I signed up to "learn how to teach yoga.". I could never have envisioned the love, support, and growth I would have gained as a person. Kate and Sheri have so many years of experience and brought in so many experienced teachers to help share their knowledge and the areas where they shine as teachers. I learned about yoga postures, chakras, anatomy and so much more. Learning was fun and I felt like I was in this amazing yoga bubble every weekend with people who share a love and passion for learning and growing on all levels. The loving and supportive environment allowed the teacher trainees to dig deep, explore, and be vulnerable with each other as we learned about not only yoga but who we strive to be as future teachers. Time was devoted to digging deep into our inner selves to discover our authentic voice as a teacher. I highly recommend this yoga teacher training at YoBk; even if you just want to deepen your yoga practice. You may feel different at the end and may want to venture into teaching because you will be so inspired to share what you learned with others.” - Amanda

“If you are thinking about signing up for Yoga Teacher Training -- DO IT! If you have some doubts -- such as thinking that you aren't good enough at yoga, or the thought of teaching in front of students terrifies you -- this was me. However, the only prerequisites are that you love yoga, love learning, and are serious about taking your practice deeper. Just go for it!! Don't let your own doubts hold yourself back! I learned so much about yoga, such as the history and philosophy. It taught me about myself and increased my self-confidence with public speaking. The skills learned in YTT will help with your relationships, the relationship with yourself, and even in your career. I'm so happy I made the decision to take teacher training! Attending yoga teacher training was one of the best investments I made for myself.” - Teacher Training Graduate, 2022

“YO BK Teacher Training was like nothing I could have imagined. I joined the training because I wanted to deepen my practice, really not with the intention of teaching but after going through this experience the only thing I want to do is continue to share my knowledge with others and continue to teach. We were a group of 18 vastly different people who came together and connected on such a deep level. I've left this training with lifelong friendships and a true home base. My walls were broken down and I learned to really drop into my body and practice, without ego, in a way that wouldn't have been possible without the proper guidance and resources offered by this training. I carry so many of these yoga principles into my everyday life as well. Kate and Sherri were the most incredible leaders for our group. They both offered two different yoga journeys and training styles that enriched the experience in unique ways. The classes they taught as well as guest instructors were hands down the most amazing yoga classes I've ever experienced. The energy of practicing in a room full of like minded individuals and being led by true yoga experts was something you just can't find anywhere else but in a teacher training. Yes, it was challenging but it was also rewarding. Like most challenging things, you get out of it what you put into it. This training has forever changed my life for the better and I'm truly grateful. The best part is that it's just the beginning!” - Bonnie

“I can’t recommend YO BK’s 200 hour teacher training enough. I shopped around at different studios for my teacher training. I decided on YO BK because they offered an in person teacher training, which was absolutely imperative to me. Kate and Sheri created a safe, sacred environment that fostered curiosity for the practice and indelible friendships amongst all us trainees. Since working professionally as a yoga instructor, I have only come to more fully appreciate my training at YO BK. The posture clinics and the practical, physical knowledge were top shelf, but the true shining star of YO BK’s training is their dedication to learning the philosophy and introducing the outer branches of yoga practice. We did workshops on Ayurveda, Pranayama, the History of Yoga, and extensive Chakra work. I personally didn’t expect to learn as much as I did, and I expected to learn A LOT. I have only worked professionally as a teacher now for about a month and a half, but in talking with trainees from other studios, I can comfortably say that YO BK offers a program like no other.” - Samuel
